Bengaluru campaigns against smoking

Members of NGOs and students wearing costumes to highlight the dangers of smoking in a rally to raise awareness on World No Tobacco Day in Bengaluru.

World No Tobacco Day, marked annually on May 31, brings to light the health risks of tobacco use and pushes advocacy for policies to reduce tobacco consumption.

Bengaluru received a US$150,000 ($203,000) award from the World Health Organisation in March for its tobacco control efforts, particularly reduction of smoking in public places.
