JOB DESCRIPTION:

1. Installation and Commissioning:
   Responsible for the installation and commissioning of WEG products(such as Electric motor, Drives & Alternator) and equipment at customer sites.
   Work closely with control systems to integrate VFDs and motors into a cohesive operation.
   Ensure that all equipment is set up correctly and meets operational standards.
2. Maintenance and Repairs:
   Perform field service for maintenance and troubleshooting of equipment to ensure smooth operation.
   Diagnose and repair technical issues related to equipment malfunction or failure.
3. Customer Training and Support:
   Provide technical support and guidance to customers regarding product usage and maintenance.
   Conduct on-site training sessions for clients on how to operate and maintain equipment.
4. Technical Support and Consultation:
   Offer technical consultation to assist in resolving complex technical issues.
   Collaborate with the technical team to develop solutions tailored to customer needs.
5. Documentation and Reporting:
   Maintain detailed service records, including maintenance schedules, repairs, and customer feedback.
   Submit regular reports on job status, equipment conditions, and service-related activities to management.
   Provide recommendations for improvements based on site observations and customer input.
6. Health, Safety, and Compliance:
   Ensure compliance with local health and safety regulations while on-site.
   Promote a safe working environment by following safety protocols and using proper safety equipment.
   Adhere to company policies and guidelines for quality control and industry standards.
7. Collaboration, Coordination, and Customer Relationship Management:
   Work closely with the technical and support teams to resolve complex technical issues.
   Maintain strong relationships with clients, addressing technical inquiries and service-related concerns.
8. Travel Requirements:
   Willingness to travel in ASEAN region for on-site service, commissioning/installations, maintenance, and customer support.
   Occasional travel to regional or overseas locations may be required based on project needs and customer requirements.
9. Experimentation and Investigation:
   Analyse data and report findings to support product and system improvements.
10. Inventory and Materials Management:
    Inspect inventory levels and reorder materials and technical components to maintain stock for ongoing projects.
    Ensure the availability of necessary parts and components to avoid project delays.
11. Record-Keeping and Presentation Support:
    Assist with presentations and documentation for internal and external stakeholders.
12. Emergency Response / Urgent Support:
    Provide urgent support and troubleshoot critical issues during emergency breakdowns to minimize downtime.
    Respond quickly to urgent customer service requests, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
13. Strong Communication Skills:
    Verbal Communication: Ability to articulate thoughts and ideas clearly and confidently in meetings, presentations, and discussions with colleagues, clients, and stakeholders.

Requirements

• Diploma & Degree in Electrical / Mechanical Engineering or any relevant qualification.
• Possess an min 3 years’ experience in commissioning & trouble shooting of Electric motor, drives and control system for Marine vessel is desired.
• Possess a Class 3 Driving license
• Possess strong technical skills, including knowledge of electrical systems, PLC, communication protocols, troubleshooting techniques, and safety practices.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with customers and colleagues
• Experience working in marine industry will be advantage
• Positive attitude and a team player
• Bilingual as need to communicate with China counterpart

Qualifications & Skills

Specific responsibilities:

Tank calibration:

• To make site visits and review job specifications prior to quotation release on our services.
• To assist in execution of Shore and Ship Tank Calibration.
• To prepare and review reports prior to release.
• To prepare/update both operational and safety procedures to ensure and stay relevant for fit of use at respective job sites.
• To supervise and co-ordinate job scheduling, manpower control and resource allocation needed for job assignment.
• Acceptance and issuance of job instructions and control of special operations.
• To assist in the development of existing and new business through regular client contacts.
• To upkeep of department equipment/assets.
• To raise purchase requisition for equipment required.
• To assist in the development and training of staff to required level of expertise.
• Ensure that all operations are conducted within client’s health and safety requirements.
• To recognize that the department Quality system is fully implemented as per the QA Manual.
• Perform any ad-hoc task that may be assigned from time to time.
